Electrical inspection prioritizes shock, fire and equipment hazards. Observe accessible service equipment, grounding and bonding indicators, overcurrent protection, representative devices and visible wiring conditions without performing unsafe work.

Exposed energized conductors, damaged equipment and overheating evidence deserve prompt action. Report the exact component and location and recommend correction by a qualified electrician.

A home inspection is not a comprehensive code-compliance inspection. State test limitations and results, especially when a device cannot be tested or a panel cannot be opened safely.
