Plumbing supply, drainage and water-heating risks

Residential water heater and connected piping
Representative training image. Apply the course reporting method to observable evidence only.

Observe accessible supply and drain components for leakage, corrosion, inadequate support, unsafe temperature or pressure conditions and functional concerns. A slow fixture drain does not identify the concealed obstruction location.

Water-heating observations should include visible venting, discharge piping, leakage and installation safety indicators within the inspection scope. Do not operate controls or valves when doing so may cause damage.

Reports should connect the observed condition to repair, correction or qualified evaluation. Avoid guaranteeing performance after repair or predicting concealed system condition.
