Professional independence requires disclosure of financial or referral relationships that could reasonably affect perceived objectivity. Accurate records protect the inspector, client and public.

Preserve inspection agreements, reports, material photographs and significant correspondence according to applicable requirements. Course providers likewise retain identity, participation, assessment and certificate evidence for regulatory review.

Avoid absolute claims. A statement such as ‘no visible evidence was observed in accessible areas at the time of inspection’ accurately preserves scope and time boundaries.
